Hello, I'm Sarah. I live, love and laugh in the city of San Francisco.
I'm a San Francisco Bay Area based photographer specializing in narrative event photography. I believe that event photography is more than just posed images of people smiling at the camera — its purpose is to evoke the feelings of being present in a moment. Each image should not only be important to the people in it, but contribute to the storytelling & intimacy of the occasion.
I've shot a range of events including discussion forums at The Commonwealth Club, a talk given by fellow photographer Brandon Stanton of 'Humans of New York' as well as quite a few birthday parties, baby showers, workshops and executive speaker events. I have also had the honor of photographing numerous weddings, engagements and proposals. In each instance I've found that there is often an unexpected story to be told in the seemingly mundane — and I find great joy in discovering and capturing just that.
When I'm not behind the camera, I love to be outdoors exploring the beauty that surrounds us. I can usually be found prancing amongst the redwoods with my pitbull, standing on clifftops staring into the ocean marveling at whales or simply hopping in my car to explore California's endless curves.

I recently had a chance to work with Sarah for our largest biennial fundraising event with over 400 people in attendance! Sarah was such a delight to work with. Her photos are absolutely stunning and really captured the mood of the event — and her professionalism and communication pre-event and throughout the event was wonderful.Natasha Dao - Development Manager | Women's Community Clinic
